About us
Golden Bay High School’s Library caters for approx. 360 students and staff and has over 6000 items on the library catalogue. It is open on school days from 9.00 am to 2.30 pm. Our school librarian is Mrs Angela Berkett. The librarian is assisted in the library at Interval or lunchtime by student librarians. The librarians are available to help students find recreational reading, relevant material for research and support classroom teaching.
Students are encouraged to read and to support this we have a DEAR (Drop Everything And Read) program in place where the students literally ‘drop everything and read’ for 15 minutes a day twice a week. New books on the display stand are changed weekly and students are encouraged to reserve any that interest them.
